1.The Tournament
The “2nd European Small Nations Team Championship” will be held in Klaksvík from Sunday 14th August (arrival) to Monday 22th August 2011 (departure).
2.Participants
Countries participating in the event are as follows:
- ANDORRA
- CYPRUS
- FAROE ISLANDS
- GUERNSEY
- JERSEY
- LIECHTENSTEIN
- LUXEMBOURG
- MALTA
- MONACO
- SAN MARINO
Each team shall consist of four players. One of the players will be also team captain. All teams can have one (1) reserve player.
3.Travelling expenses and Airports
The expenses of the trip to Klaksvík will be covered by the respective Federations or players.
Transfer from and to airport can be arranged for 30 EUR pr. person by the organizers.

Tournament Regulations
1.Round Robin Tournament
The tournament will be played with a round‐robin system with 10 teams composed of 4 players, and nine rounds. The final positions of the teams shall be established by the number of game points scored by each team.
2.Time Control
90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 15 minutes for the rest of the game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

4.Tie‐breaks
a. The sum of the match points won.
b. Sonnenborn‐Berger system.
c. The match result between themselves.
5.Procedure of appeals
Protests against decisions of the Chief Arbiter or any of his assistants must be submitted in
written form to the Chairman of the Appeals committee within one hour after completion
of the playing session. The protest must be accompanied with the sum of 100 EUR, as a
deposit from the signatory. If the protest is accepted and the decision changed, then the
deposit will be returned back to the claimant. Otherwise money will be transferred to the
Organizing Committee.
The Appeals Committee will be selected prior to the first round during the Technical
meeting and will be made up of three persons selected by the majority of the players and
two members of the organization.
6.Additional Rules
a. Analyzing is not allowed in the playing hall.
b. During the game the players are not allowed to go to the analyzing room.
c. Players are asked not to bring any mobile phone into the playing hall. If a mobile
phone rings the player will be punished according to Art. 13.4 of the Laws of Chess
by loss of the game.
d. Flash photography may be used only in the first fifteen minutes of the games.
e. We assume that all the players have read the Tournament Regulations and are obliged to obey them.
7.Prizes
There will be prizes for top three teams and a special prize for best player of each board (single board Prizes).
